Sync audiobooks through Icloud between MAC and Iphone

Hello,

I can add my books or pdf in Books in my mac and they sync with Ihone and Ipad, but it seems like if I add an audiobook (mp3, m4a, m4b, aac...) to books it does not sync to Iphone... is this normal?

Syncing audiobooks from Mac to iPhone Hi, so I have a library of audio books on my Mac. I have decided to change to Apple Books, I have imported my library into the app on my Mac. Now I want to send them to my iPhone, I read up about going through the finder, selecting my iPhone and then on the button bar go to audiobooks, now the problem is I can see my iPhone in finder but there is no “audiobooks” button. I can see movies tv etc etc. why is this so hard to get it synced? I could sync them via Apple Music but I ideally want to have everything separated out and now be using just Apple apps for podcasts, music and audiobooks. side note - every other app syncs fine including music.

Audiobook not syncing I bought an audiobook from a website (not the Books store). It arrived as an M4b file, which I was able to drag into the Books app on my Mac, where I can now listen to it. I expected that it would sync via iCloud to my iPad and my iPhone, but it hasn't. Is there something I need to do to make this happen? Thanks in advance.

Audiobooks not syncing via iCloud I'm pretty sure this used to work, but at some point my audiobooks (not bought through Apple) stopped syncing between devices via iCloud. All devices have iCloud drive enabled and iCloud enabled for Books. I can verify that because my PDFs do sync via iCloud. It's only audiobooks (like from Audible) that will not sync via iCloud. If I turn it off, the PDFs disappear. I have two computers running macOS 12.6 and one iPhone with iOS 16 (although this didn't work in iOS 15).

That's normal. Syncing audiobooks can only be done the traditional way: Sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod using your computer – Apple Support (AU)

Thank. But after that do they still sync position between Mac, Ipad and Iphone? I mean, can I resume on the Mac from where I left in the Iphone?
