Accidentally removed second phone from my iCloud account

I was wanting to erase all data from my iPhone 12 Pro Max to give the phone to a friend. By mistake, I removed it from my iCloud account on my iPhone 13 Pro Max before erasing data and settings. Now I can’t erase the data, and can’t add the phone back to my Apple account.

Can’t see how to delete this post, but I solved it by locating the phone on find my phone then using that method to erase the data, which was my original intention.
