Try choosing AirPrint instead of Secure AirPrint when adding the printer: in AddPrinter, hold the Option key down while selecting the printer - that should show both AirPrint and Secure AirPrint in the Use menu.

Go to System Preferences, click on Printers and Scanners, Highlight the printer with the encryption error, click the + icon (mine is on the bottom left of the pop-up), in the new pop-up window hold the option key and select the printer, a new section in that window should appear. On the "Use:" line switch from Secure AirPrint to AirPrint, and then click "Add". It should work. Good luck.

AirPrint vs. Secure AirPrint is not an option in OS 13.1.

I got it to work. Hooray!!

The issue was the encryption credentials in the printer had expired. I went to the online printer interface and reset the printer's encryption setting, and it worked fine from that point on.

In OS 13.1, I don't see an option to select AirPrint vs Secure AirPrint.

I used the steps you outlined. When I held down the option key and selected the printer, it showed "secure AirPrint" along with the printer's name. After installation, I chose the printer, and the word "secure" was no longer in the name, and it reported encryption credentials had expired for the printer.

I'm attempting to connect a Ricoh MP C3503 printer which worked fine before the Ventura 13.2 upgrade.

Hold the option key down before selecting the AirPrint printer. The Use: menu should be populated with the name of the printer and two ppds - "Secure AirPrint" and "AirPrint".

Thank you! I kept reading to reinstall and choose AirPrint instead of Secure AirPrint but COULD NOT find how to do that! All it took was holding down the option key!

OMG - I have been trying to fix this on and off for weeks - had to go back to using an older Mac. You suggestion just worked for me. Thank you so so much for your help.
