I bought my 20w charger outside the apple store since its sold out. Payed it for full price that's why I thought its original. But then I noticed the serial number on the box is different from the serial number of the adapter itself. Is it fake or not?

With accessories it can be hard to tell. Look for "MFi" (Made for iPhone) on the packaging. See this:
