Silent ringtone

Wow- I upgraded to the newest operating system, and I am shocked that I still cannot assign “silent” or “no ringtone” to an individual contact.

What is going on over there at Apple? It seems like you are continually removing simple options like “no ringtone”… or is the whole point to force iPhone users to purchase a silent ringtone? CAN YOU FIX THIS PLEASE?

Custom ringtones stop playing after 3 seconds on iPhone 14 with iOS 18.1.1 iPhone 14, iOS 18.1.1 Calls from contacts with custom ringtones assigned to them only play the ringtone for about 3 seconds. The call is still actively incoming, and I can answer it, but there is no ringtone after the initial 3-5 seconds. Factory ringtones and alerts/alarms work fine. Only the custom ringtones quit audibly playing a few seconds in. This has been going on for a couple months now, so during iOS 17, but continues now with iOS 18. If I go to the settings and choose the custom ringtone, it plays fine, so the files are working. I have checked the accessibility settings and they are set to automatic. How do I fix this issue? make ringtone ring on silent mode Is there any possible way that I can make my ringtone ring when my phone is on silent mode? I always keep it on silent because I can’t stand the constant app sounds, but I’d still like my ringtone to sound when i’m getting a call. I know there is apps option you can toggle for specific contacts so that their calls/messages sound even when you’re on silent mode, but: I’d like the ringtone to sound no matter what, even if they’re not in my contacts I don’t want text messages to sound either, as that’s just annoying. ive been wondering about this since 2014, when I got my first custom ringtone and couldn’t stand having silent mode turned off just so I could hear my new ringtone. I feel like this is a very standard point of view, and I don’t understand why it has never been introduced.

ASSIGNED RINGTONE NOT WORKING Need Help! RE: RINGTONE ASSIGNED TO CERTAIN CONTACTS NOT WORKING!!! I purchased an iPhone 14 Pro Max, two days ago (which was pretty expensive) for the new Ringtones assigned to certain contacts not to work. I also tried going through the “i” contact info and verified that the assigned Ringtones are set, but it plays the default Ringtone and NOT THE RINGTONES ASSIGNED! Please help resolve this issue.
