Numbers Unexpectedly Quit

I just created some new files in Numbers, and now Numbers closes with the message Numbers quit Unexpectedly... tried reboot, forced quit, and when I exited and opened under guest user, Numbers operates as normal. What do I need to do? I don't have enough space to upgrade to Ventura. Currently running MacOS Mojave 10.14.6.

It is also weird that when I sign on to Apple community it says that someone is trying to access from Ashburn, VA. Not sure why my address shows up from there.

Hello TroubleWithNumbers,

We would like to see how we can help you with your Numbers quitting unexpectedly. Anytime the hard drive is full, you will see unexpected error arise like you are seeing with the Numbers app. If possible, follow the steps in this link to manage your storage: Free up storage on your Mac

Let's attempt to boot into Safe Mode and log in with your regular User account. Simply using safe mode may resolve this issue. What we need to do is see if the problem persists during safe mode. Here are the steps we’ll need to take to do so: How to use safe mode on your Mac

After the device boots into safe mode, try to reproduce the problem. Knowing whether or not the problem persists in safe mode will provide valuable insight as to how deep the problem may be rooted.

If safe mode does not work, or the restart after a successful boot into safe mode does not work, please contact us back with the results so we can troubleshoot further.

"How to use safe mode

Determine whether you're using a Mac with Apple silicon, then follow the appropriate steps:

Apple silicon

  1. Shut down your Mac.
  2. Turn on your Mac and continue to press and hold the power button until you see the startup options window.
  3. Select your startup disk, then press and hold the Shift key while clicking “Continue in Safe Mode.”
  4. Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again.

Intel processor

  1. Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key as your Mac starts up.
  2. Release the key when you see the login window, then log in to your Mac.
  3. You might be asked to log in again. On either the first or second login window, you should see ”Safe Boot” in the upper-right corner of the window."

Cheers!

Hey TroubleWithNumbers,

If the issue persists in safe mode, but not in a guest user, it seems like it is isolated to that user. You may need to create and use a new Administrator user and if the issue does not persist there.

Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

Reinstalling macOS may be the next step after that.

If you still need help after that, please contact Apple Support.

Take care.
