Gapless Playback Issue on iOS 16.2

The bad bug is back.

Gapless playback in Apple Music, iOS 16.2 on iPhone 14:

There is a NOTICEABLE delay between tracks that are intended to be gapless. This issue occurs between every other track, starting with the second transition in a series.

Between track 1 and track 2: works fine

Between track 2 and track 3: playback delay

Between track 3 and track 4: works fine

Between track 4 and track 5: playback delay

And so on.

Give it a try on the Abbey Road, You Never Give Me Your Money sequence and you’ll hear the problem. Or Counting Crows, Butter Miracle Suite One. Or David Bowie, Blackstar.

Or any of your favorite gapless music tracks.

This issue goes way back and gets fixed in one upgrade only to return in a subsequent one. This one came back with the upgrade to iOS 16.2
