FILTER 🔽 Function in 2023 Numbers!! PLEASE!

I know this is not the first time this question is made:

I love Numbers. Excel is excellent and sometimes more advanced than Numbers.

I know the FILTER menus in Numbers . Very useful. I also use a lot of functions: XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP; INDEX & MATCH; SUMIFS;... All of them are the same than in Excel but easier to implemnt.

What is the reason why 2023 Numbers is still not able to operate with the FILTER function in order to filter a range of data based on one or multiple defined criteria?

Thank you!

I doubt they ever will. The structure and operation of that function is far different from every other function in Numbers. It uses syntax similar to Excel array functions (not supported in Numbers) and spills the results to adjacent cells (which no functions in Numbers do). Apple could make something similar I suppose. All that is needed is a lookup or MATCH function that can take multiple criteria and return multiple results. Then we could use INDEX to display all the results.

If you have a specific problem to solve and can provide more detail and a screenshot, we might be able to work something up that will give results like FILTER does.
