battery not charging in new laptop:S

I have not used me Apple Macbook pro for 4 or 5 months, now today I turned it on and the battery is not charging. As soon as I remove the charger the laptop shuts down.

Although my laptop is new and has been used and stored maybe 3/4 times.. please help
