Hey there, and welcome to Apple Support Communities Tusc1977,
We can certainly understand your concern and see you came to us from the article Connect an AirPrint printer to a Wi-Fi network.
We recommend checking out these steps from the above article for more information on how to connect your devices in order to use the AirPrint feature.
" This general information isn't specific to any particular AirPrint printer. For detailed steps, check the printer's documentation or contact the printer's manufacturer. All Wi-Fi printers need a properly configured Wi-Fi network and the name (or SSID) and password of that network.
If the printer has a built-in display
Printers with a touchscreen or other built-in display (control panel) generally expect you to use that display to select or enter the name and password of your Wi-Fi network. Check the printer's documentation for details.
If the printer uses Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
If your Wi-Fi router isn't made by Apple, check the router’s documentation for details about how to add a WPS printer.
If your Wi-Fi router is an AirPort Base Station:

We also recommend checking out this link on how to use the AirPrint feature on your iPhone as well: Use AirPrint to print from your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
These steps will help ensure your device is working with ease and can fix common issues like the ones you’re experiencing.
Kindest regards!
Hi,
Any information about the exact printer model?
With AirPrint, the normal way of connecting the printer and an iPhone is via a Wi-Fi router (infrastructure mode).
If there is a problem with AirPrint device discovery, and all settings are OK, you could try the following procedure (in this order, with these waiting times): Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the iPhone, and all other connected devices/computers. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the iPhone. Finally, power on all other devices/computers.
