Notes Formatting Issue

After iOS 16 update I can no longer select bold, italic and underline at the same time. I have to make 3 separate format change to do this now. This sucks - please fix it ASAP

Create and format a new note

1. Tap , then enter your text.

The first line of the note becomes the note’s title.

2. To change the formatting, tap .

You can apply a heading style, bold or italic font, a bulleted or numbered list, and more.

3. To save the note, tap Done.

Tip: To choose a default style for the first line in all new notes, go to Settings > Notes > New Notes Start With.

Once the 'Aa' button is selected this will bring up the formatting window where you may select or de-select bold/italics/underline (and strikethrough) as desired.

You’re not understanding what I’m telling you. I’m on an iPhone 13 Pro which was just upgraded to iOS 16.

Once a Note is created and you add a new line of text, in the prior iOS version when you selected specific text a pop up that showed B/I/U was available and you could select one or more format options at the same time for a single word or group of words. For example if I wanted to make text bold and italic, or do all 3 format types i.e. bold, italic and underline on a specific word or group of words I used to be able to do that all at the same time.

Now in IOS 16 I select text, then Format, and then if I want to select more than one format type like bold and italic on the same selected text I have to do the selection and format process twice because there is no way to select multiple format options at the same time for a specific word or group of words - now you have to do multiple selection processes to do more than format type on the same word.

This is a reduction of functionality in the Notes app on the iPhone that I use all the time. PLEASE FIX IT ASAP.

THIS IS WHY UPGRADING TO NEW VERSIONS IS A CRAPSHOOT. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT BASIC FUNCTIONS WULL BE TAKEN AWAY FOR NO REASON.
