Does AppleCare plus cover screen scratches?

Hi, I bought apple care plus thinking it will cover the screen scratches as I read it in the discussion Apple chat. I went to an Apple store in Paris to ask if my scratches could be covered by AppleCare plus and the sales representative told me that it was not the case if the screen was not broken.I’m little bit confused since I bought Apple Care based on the feedback i read on the chat. Can you please confirm. Thank you.
