Apple Mail Failure with Yahoo Mail

I've tried to search but find only irrelevant threads.

Perhaps since installing Monterey 12.6.1 update I have had continuous failures to obtain complete emails from my Yahoo accounts. Sometimes the emails are truncated and sometimes there is no message content at all. When I first setup my Yahoo accounts on this MBP late 2021 running Monterey 12.6.0, all emails from Yahoo were complete.

I find using the Mailbox> Rebuild> option gives quite imperfect results. The partial emails and emails with no content change from rebuild to rebuild but the Yahoo inbox is filled with incomplete emails each time. Those that are partial and those that have no content at all change. I find I'm rebuilding my Apple Mail, Mailbox 10, 20 or more times a day.

I've tried deleting my Yahoo account to no avail. I've tried deleting all accounts and a bunch of preferences in Library folder related to Apple Mail in an attempt to reset Apple Mail. Nothing so far has worked.

There are no problems with emails that are truncated or with completely missing content on this computer when using Mozilla Thunderbird or Web mail with Safari, Brave and Firefox.

I've tried to change my Yahoo account over to Pop3 hoping once an email is downloaded to this computer complete it will stay that way but I've never gotten Yahoo Pop3 to work.

I really prefer Apple Mail on this computer but I'm forced to rely on Thunderbird for all Yahoo accounts.

I recently had this issue. No content showing. I found if I went to my Yahoo email site and resent that email to myself it then showed all the content. Not sure why that works but it does. This is not a Monterey issue as I have had Monterey for several months and no issues until last week.

I think this is a issue between Yahoo and Apple Mail, Monterey. I sometimes have issues with Yahoo mail using a browser such as Brave or Firefox (both up to date) on my Windows 10 desktop. Sometimes I can't get into my Yahoo accounts through these browsers at all on that computer. I can't remember having this problem accessing Yahoo accounts on this MBP late 2021 Monterey or my old MBP 2011 High Sierra (same browsers) but I may have.

I've tried to setup one Yahoo account on this MBP as a Pop3 account but that has fail 100%. The email address and password never is accepted even though I can use the same user name and password on Thunderbird, Safari, Brave and Firefox. I'm using pop.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com but I can't verify the ports used or the authentication method used. Is there a way to get down and dirty and install an email account in Apple Mail (full manual) as was the norm in my Windows 95 days?

...Anyway this MBP, Late 2021 on Monterey 12.6.2 is my primary computer and until recently Apple Mail was my preferred way of accessing my Yahoo accounts. At least Mozilla Thunderbird has been working for me on this MBP (Monterey).

For Yahoo pop mail you must use a pw generated by Yahoo from your web location but not sure that is the no content mail issue. I believe my issue started with the last Monterey security updates. I’m testing the mail privacy settings to see if that has any impact. I will report back later.

Changing security settings had no impact. I also tried to reindex mail by deleting the envelop files in the Library/mail/V9/mail data directory and that also did nothing. I filed a bug report with Apple.
