Apple Watch locked itself

While I was sleeping and my new watch was off my wrist and on its charger, the watch locked itself. It says “wrong passcode try again in 7 hours”. I haven’t touched it. No one has. Was it trying to enter codes on its own? I can’t unlock with my phone? This is ridiculous. Help!
