macbook pro 2015 backslash and return keys working together

I have a 2015 Macbook Pro with Retina display running Monterey 12.6.1. Whenever either the return key or the backslash key is pressed it always returns a new line and then a backslash. I have removed the keys and cleaned them and put them back no problem but this behavior persists. Anyone have any ideas aside from going to the Apple store? Please and thank you!

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.7

Keys in a straight line, keys associated on a diagonal, Individual key failures—typically indicate a hardware issue.

Try a different keyboard and compare your results. wireless or cable connected to your MBP as a test.

Apple will test you MBP but may refuse service— see vintage and obsolete:

Obtaining service for your Apple product after an expired warranty - Apple Support

Any third party computer repair shop can replace the uppercase/keyboard assembly if parts are available(?)

ref: In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"
