Unable to adjust brightness

I have been unable to change my Mac display for a while now, the display settings doe not show any options for brightness.

The display option in the control centre is greyed out and can't be moved.

When I try to use the function keys to regulate brightness it does not change anything

Also using the brightness option on my touch bar doesn't do anything.

So my display is constantly at its brightest and it drains my battery

I've tried to reset NVRAM but it still changes nothing.

I thought updating to Ventura will fix the problem but it didn't

I'm all out of options, Pleaseeeeee help.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.1

1 - Restart in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.

2 - Safe Mode will also eliminate Third Party Software, extensions and drivers from loading

3 - Does the issue present in this mode ?

4 - Sometimes a Safe Boot followed by a Normal Boot will just put things right.

The user refers to " my Mac display " - ok

Are we talking about the Internal Display of the computer ?

Are we talking about and External Display which is connected to the computer by cables ?

I do know using a M1 Mac Mini ( headless machine ) and have an External Display connected via HDMI cable.

I have no Direct control over the External Display via the control of the computer.

Have to use the Buttons on the Display to adjust Brightness, Sound etc.
