The modem-router is smart enough to send data to the right device. It’s fine. Millions of users do this daily. AirPlay makes use of the home network, so at a low level it is just communication between devices, with a sender and receiver of data.
I’m concerned that a Roku or Apple Airplay device on my old TV will interfere/confuse my Smart TV. Both are working through the same Xfinity modem.

Roku set up went well due to grandson’s skills. Took about 45 minutes to do all login’s and choosing options. Thank you. We now can have Air-play on our older TV.
