Show "Confirm Additional Faces" photos details or in all photos

I've been updating face assignments in my Photo library, but I've run into a surprising challenge. Especially for baby photos, what is shown doesn't have enough context for me to know which of my kids it is. On macOS, the Info inspector is empty while "Review More Photos" is running, and I don't see a way to get that info on iOS either. Really, all I need is to know the date of the photo, or be able to zoom out, or be able to show it in "All photos".

Are there any other workarounds for this? At times, the next photo to review is identical for both kids, so it stops me from reviewing other photos.

No workarounds that I know of, and it is frustrating. I agree, babies are the worst. (Don't quote me on that!) They all look pretty much alike, except to their moms, apparently. But the Apple AI seems to agree, because I get a wide range of babies purporting to be mine. Maybe we should send feedback to Apple asking for the option of seeing context in "Review" and in "Confirm," at this link"

I may have done it before, but I'm going there, again, right now...

When in doubt, never confirm a face from the "Confirm additional faces" dialog. When you cannot tell the babies apart in a photo, neither can Photos. And the dialog will occasionally add a batch of look-alike faces, when we just get one face to confirm. If that happens, the faces of two people could become mixed into one People album.

I am naming the problematic faces starting from an album with the new photos.

  • I enable "View > Show Face Names". This way the unnamed faces will appear as circles with an "Unnamed" field below them, when viewing a photo engaged.
  • Now I step through the new photos, and when I see an unnamed face I type the name into the text field.

This helps with photos where I need to see the the date and the location to recognise the person.
