I just purchased a Bose Portable Smart Speaker that is compatible with Apple AirPlay 2. I am trying to link it, and my iPhone AirPlay is asking for the on-screen code for the speaker. My speaker has no screen.
What am I being asked for?

hopefully apple/bose figure this out as I’d really like to use airplay instead of Bluetooth in some instances. Oddly Casting does work so I guess you can use Google technology to network stream to the supposedly apple compatible speaker with your Apple phone 🤣
The Bose site has no reference to any on screen code. It is my iPhone XR that is asking for me to enter something called an AirPlay Code. It reads "AirPlay Code - Enter the on-screen code for "Portable Smart Speaker"". There is no screen on my Bose speaker.
What am I missing?

I did not get help from Bose. They tried, but failed. It is almost as if AirPlay is asking for a password, despite my settings that do not require one.
I haven’t resolved yet either but I did find out my daughter can connect on her phone which is iOS 15.6, but I am on 16.2 and get the on screen code error.
