Camera Zoom Out toggle between 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 2.5x, and 3x

Hi! I am trying to zoom out / see outside of frame when taking a photo because the space is small and I cannot back up far enough to capture the area I am trying to capture.

I looked up how to zoom out and saw that there were options to toggle between toggle between 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 2.5x, and 3x, displaying right about the camera shutter button on the screen. However, I do not see any numbers here and can only pinch zoom in, not out. I’ve already looked at the Apple settings page and it unfortunately isn’t clear to me how to resolve this so that I can even see the .5, 2x, and 2.5x options, much less select them.

I also found instructions to edit the camera settings in Settings, but I do not see the function for adjusting to .5 or displaying this option in the camera. I’ve attached screen shots for reference.
