Can I connect 2 pairs of wireless headphones to iPad 8th gen? ( not AirPods )

It is the case, that in order to share audio between two Bluetooth devices on an iPad, they would need to be compatible AirPods or Beats headphones as seen in Share audio with AirPods and Beats headphones from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Share audio will not work with headphones outside of these.
