Hello, would the Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 580 8 GB Video Card qualify as a compatible option on a Mac Pro 5,1 running Mojave?
What other models IDs should I be aware of? I bought a Sapphire Raedon RX 580 before, but it was not compatible as MacOS read it as only having 5MB or VRAM vs 8GB.
Hi, Karmadioxide, yes, the sapphire nitro+ radeon extra 580 would definitely qualify… here’s a list of cards that do :
Graphics card compatibility for Final Cut Pro, Motion 5, and Compressor 4 - Apple Support
please note that more powerful cards eg Vega 56,64 and higher would require the Pixlas mod as they draw too much power thru the backplane of your Mac Pro… the RX 6600 would be great, too ( good luck finding one, though)
