My MacBook is not charging iPhone through USB C adapter

Hey. Today I have got this product https://www.apple.com/pl/shop/product/MUF82ZM/A/wieloportowa-przej%C5%9Bci%C3%B3wka-z-usb-c-na-cyfrowe-av

and I connect my currently USB C Thunderbolt cable with this adapter and the iPhone is not charging. If I connect my currently USB C directly to the MacBook it is charging but If I use adapter - it is not charging. Also I checked with the cable (USB -> iPhone) and it is charging. There is some issue with the USB C charging through this adapter. Can someone help?

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities!

The adapter posted above is showing compatibility with iPad and Mac and is not compatible with iPhone. This would be expected behavior.

Hi dawideqq,

It does have the same port that can be used by an iPhone. The AV adapter is made for audio and video and doesn't have the capability of charging. It lets you mirror your devices to each other.

So there is separate adapter for iPhone compatibility? That is so weird that iPhone is not supported by this adapter even it has this same plug...
