Retrieve lost voice memo

I recorded a three hour lecture on my iPhone. I have iCloud services activated on my macBook pro so that my voice memos will sync automatically to my macBook. however when I opened the voice memo on my MacBook, only half of the recording synced. When I went back to open the voice memo on my phone, the original three hour voice memo disappeared and the incomplete version that synced onto my MacBook synced to my phone.

is there any way I can retrieve the original complete recording that was on my phone?

Hello yael134,

Let's start off by checking the Recently Deleted folder to see if your Voice Memo might be there. This article explains how to do that: Edit or delete a recording in Voice Memos on iPhone. Follow these steps:

"Recover or erase a deleted recording

Tap the Recently Deleted folder, then tap the recording you want to recover or erase.
Do any of the following:

Recover the selected recording: Tap Recover.
Recover everything in the Recently Deleted folder: Tap Edit above the Recently Deleted list, then tap Recover All."
