What happened to the pull down from top access to search?

Swiping down from the top-edge of the iPad screen will open the Notification Centre.
For Search, touch any empty space on any Home Screen - avoiding App/folder icons and screen corners/edges. Swiping downwards will expose the Search dialogue.
