iTunes forever skipping songs.

Whenever I try to play any of my playlists, they all just skip forever and never actually play. They play perfectly fine on my Apple devices, as well as any browser on my PC. But the iTunes app for Windows never lets me play music.

Windows, Windows 10

Hello htmlmason,

Are you streaming these playlists or are they downloaded to your PC? We'd recommend downloading them to test it further: Add and download music in iTunes on PC - Apple Support

Download music to your computer
1. In the iTunes app  on your PC, choose Music from the pop-up menu at the top left, then click Library.

The Library button in the navigation bar.

2. To download music in your iTunes library to your computer, do one of the following:

- Click the iCloud Download button  next to the item.

- Move the pointer over an item (such as a song or album), click the More button  , then choose Download.

To view only your downloaded items, click Downloaded in the sidebar on the left.

If you don’t renew your Apple Music subscription, downloaded items remain on your computer, but you can’t play them until you rejoin.

Note: Music you download from Apple Music to your computer can’t be burned to a disc or transferred manually to a device, such as iPhone, iPad, or iPod. Music can only be downloaded to a device directly from Apple Music. See Intro to syncing.

If this only happens with streamed content, then we'd recommend using these steps to try to solve it: Resolve issues between iCloud for Windows or iTunes and third-party security software - Apple Support

In case this persists, are you an Apple Music or iTunes Match member? As these steps may be different, if that's the case.

Hoping to hear back, take care.

htmlmason,

If you haven't already, restart your Windows PC before trying to play the songs again.

Also, try making sure this computer is authorized to play content: Authorize or deauthorize your computer for iTunes Store purchases

1. Open iTunes. At the top of the iTunes window, choose Account and make sure that you're signed in with your Apple ID.
2. Choose Account > Authorizations, then choose Authorize This Computer or Deauthorize This Computer.
iTunes showing the Account menu, Authorizations, and Authorize This Computer.
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password. Forgot your Apple ID?
4. Click Authorize or Deauthorize.

Cheers.

I have deauthorized and authorized multiple times. I have also rebooted multiple times. Still the same issue. The issue is guaranteed every time I try to play music on my Windows PC. The issue, however, has only been occurring for the past 2 months or so. Before that, it would show an error message along the lines of "Cannot play because you are not connected to the internet," or "Cannot play because you are not signed in to Apple Music." But the issue would be resolved if I right clicked and clicked on "Show in Apple Music" and played it from there. But it in this case, the "Show in Apple Music" button does not even appear.
