Email: Apple Mail
Several times now when I cancel an email and choose “Save Draft,” the draft does not appear in the draft folder of my email. It has disappeared. I have tried checking ALL the draft folders of each of my 4 mail accounts. And I have force quit my iPhone and reset it.
Nothing works!
How do I retrieve the missing draft? Or is this an iPhone bug?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

It has always been set to drafts in the advanced settings — as are all my email accounts on Apple mail.
Drafts certainly work for me with an iCloud mail address. I currently use iOS 16.1.2, but they worked for me for many years with previous iOS versions. The issue is very likely related to your email service provider and your email account setup with that provider.

My email is an iCloud email address set up with Apple Mail. It is not saving the draft.
You told us you have four email accounts. Are they all iCloud accounts? If not, are you certain the draft email is associated with your iCloud email account? It may well not be.
Two are @icloud, two are not. I was always able to save drafts until recently.
Does your iPhone have sufficient free storage?
Check Settings > General > iPhone Storage and be certain your free space is never less than 6GB.
Yes, it has sufficient storage.
Update:
For some reason, I am now able to save a draft. Don’t know what was going on but it seems to be resolved.
