Goldman Sachs Account Number associated with my Apple Card

I would like to pay my Apple Card bill with an electronic check from my checking account, the way I pay all my credit card bills. I don't like to give outside entities the ability to withdraw directly from my checking account.

When I am setting up the payment, all I have to tell my bank is "Apple Card" and it already knows it is associated with a Goldman Sachs account, it just asks for the account number to send the money to. How do I find the account number? It isn't on my credit card statement. Why is that?

Hi Muguy, thanks for the prompt response.

I have to say, the first part of your answer makes no sense. Of course there is an account number. Goldman Sachs doesn't run on vibes. A more interesting question might be, why won't Apple provide me with the number?

The second part seems to be correct, there is no other way to pay the card other than authorizing Apple to deduct money directly from my checking account. So I will be cancelling my Apple card.

I don’t actually think it is a security issue. Credit card fraud is a problem, and Apple Pay (as well as the card) is clever in hiding the credit card number. I like that. However, I have never heard of anyone stealing money with the *billing account* information because you can’t withdraw from the account you pay your bills to.

The security issue here is I have to give Goldman Sachs permission to withdraw arbitrary amounts of money from my checking account to pay my Apple Card bill. This exposes my checking account.

I pay all my credit card bills electronically. But I don’t give credit cases companies or anyone the authority to just take money from my account. That is the difference.

There is no account number. All payment is made in the wallet or at card.Apple.com. You cannot use bill pay services. Set up recurring payments in the wallet app that will initiate an electronic payment

For security, there is no account number accessible to users. There is also no fundamental difference in payment methods. Most checks sent are converted electronically by the recipient; so it’s pretty much the exact same thing.
