Imessages on watch not working.

Imessages or SMS only work if I'm in the vicinity of my phone. My apple watch SE has cell phone service and can connect and make phone calls and play podcasts over cellular but will not allow me to send messages.

Apple Watch 7 not sending messages! Up until recently my Apple Watch has been sending and receiving messages. Currently, it is only receiving messages and will not send any imessage or SMS texts. I have tried turning the cellular and wifi on and off as well as messing with the imessage setting on my phone. If anyone has any other troubleshooting suggestions please let me know!

I am unable to receive or send imessages from my Apple Watch. It is not in "Airplane Mode", and it is connected to wi-fi. Also, messages sent to my iphone do NOT appear on my watch. The phone is new. Phone calls DO ring on both devices. I have a new iphone and now am unable to send or receive imessages from my Apple watch. The watch is not in Airplane mode, and is connected to Wi-fi. Phone calls DO transfer over from my phone to the watch. Is there a setup or reset I need to do to have imessages sent from my phone to the watch?

After recent update for Apple Watch 8, I can receive text messages but am unable to send I have tried shutting down watch, and checking my settings on Apple Watch app on iPhone.
