If you did a hard reset on your iPhone without signing out, you will need to put in the Apple ID password to the Apple ID that you were using prior to the reset it sounds like what you’re talking about is the activation lock.

In order to reset an iPhone, you can be asked for:

• Apple ID Password
• Passcode to unlock the device's screen
• Passcode for Screen Time (if locked)

If you do not know those credentials, you might not be able to reset the device.

When you setup your device you can use any Apple ID that you want to use.
