Ipad will not recognize Apple ID password after resetting password

I am trying to access my old ipad mini. I couldn't remember the old Apple ID password so I reset it on the website. Now the Ipad says that the Apple ID is not valid to access the Ipad.

My iPad is locked because it was set up using an old Apple ID that I no longer use My iPad was locked out because it was set up using an old Apple ID that I no longer use (or even know what it was) I don't know the password either. Is there anything I can do to get it working again? I think it is called a Mini, it was inexpensive when bought about 6-7 years ago, the Apple ID I used is long dead now.

I have an older ipad i hadnt used for about 3 years. Im trying to unlock it but it wont let me use my apple ID to open acct. i changed the password and tried again. No luck. Any other suggestions Trying to erase info on older ipad. wont let me use my apple id and password. I changed the password but still no luck
