What do i need to change if my Mac is 2014 in order to get the latest software?

Big Sur is as far as a 2014 iMac can go. if you already have Big Sur, that's it. and there are no hardware upgrades that will make a Mac eligible for further macOS upgrades.

You need to get the recent macbooks to be able to get the updates. Older models cant update anymore as Jeffrey said.
