iphone

Hi, i recently tried to get into an old phone and it said “disabled connect to itunes”. I did as it said and it gave me an option to restore or update. I chose restore because all i’m trying to do is reset the iphone. I waited for awhile and nothing happened and the phone turned back on. Still it said “connect to itunes”. Instead of hitting restore i hit update and half way through it just stopped updating and said error. My phone has been on the updating screen for 2+ hours. what can i do?
