Heart rate not reading after changing iPhone

Dear Community,

I recently changed my phone from an SE to an iPhone 11. I paired my Apple Watch with the new phone. Since then my heart rate monitor won’t read on my watch. It just attempts and attempts to read it and then times out. The green lights on the back do seem to come on when this happens. Also when I’m using my workout apps none of the data is saved. The only thing recorded when I attempt a work out is the time, all other metrics, distance, heart rate, calories doesn’t register. Is there a fix for what’s going on. I updated the software on my watch but to no avail. I also did a reset etc. would appreciate any help/advice. Thank you.

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right (which I believe you already have) is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
