incoming call voice volume

I have iPhone 14 with all updates. When I place a call, everything is normal. When I receive a call, the caller's voice is only just barely audible. Caller has no trouble hearing me. My Speaker selection makes no difference. Volume button shows max volume. Answering incoming call on iPad is all normal.

never mind... after some hunting I found the audio output option and changed it from Automatic to Speaker, and all it well.
