Apple Watch Sleep Alarm

I recently started tracking my sleep with my new Apple Watch, my bedtime/sleep alarm no longer sounds from my iPhone and I instead get a light haptic vibration from my watch, is there a way to get my alarm back while still sleeping with my watch on?

The first thing you need to do is set a sleep schedule on your iPhone by going to the heath app; scroll down to sleep and select, then full schedule and options. Set your schedule and preferences here. iPhone and watch will both go into focus and sleep mode and both alarms should go off.

If you happen to select “manage sleep in the Apple Watch app” that changes sleep control to the Apple Watch specifically, if I recall. After I changed that setting, I noticed my phone didn’t ring or go into sleep mode anymore, just my watch. So, be sure to check that both are going into sleep mode and volume on phone is set correctly. You can also filter certain callers and notifications during sleep mode as well as rings, hepatics or both.

Once awake, be sure is off on both devices, especially if you tend to wake before alarm goes off. Once sleep is complete, check iPhone>health app>sleep for your results. I hope this helps!!!

Yes, that's the expected behavior. The only way to hear the alarm on the phone is if the watch is locked. Put the phone on the charger. Put your watch on (or take it off and put it back on) but don't unlock it.

Your alarm will sound on your watch if you're wearing it to bed, and the haptics might be waking you up before the sound of your chosen alarm. Try two things. The first thing is to choose an alarm on your watch by selecting the bed icon. The second thing is to go into your clock app on your phone>alarm>change> and scroll down to the alarm options. They will sync with your watch alarm options and vice versa.

Personally, I have my volume set up to half way on my phone settings. I hear my "sunny" alarm on my watch and get tapped by the haptics at the same time.
