Homekit/Airplay/Homepod mini problems.

I have a Hisense Roku tv, just purchased. Tv, Mac, iPhone, and Homepods are all up to date.

Mirroring to the tv works without problems, when I try to play the sound through the Homepod mini, the mirroring goes away and the sound comes through the Homepods.

If I try to mirror it again, the sound stops playing through the Homepods and then through the tv speakers, but the video is playing.

So I can have one or the other, audio via the Homepods and no video, or the video mirroring via my mac or my iPhone but no audio via the Hompods.

What am I missing?

Hi DaddyOFTheMacDaddy,

AirPlay through multiple sources only works for audio content. There currently isn't a way to mirror the video to your TV while directing just the audio through your HomePod. Here's some information from the Use AirPlay to stream audio resource that might be helpful:

1. Open Control Center on your iPhone or iPod touch, or on your iPad:
2. Touch and hold the group of controls in the upper-right corner, then tap AirPlay .
3. Tap each speaker or TV that you want to play the current audio to.

However, this can be achieved using a compatible Apple TV 4K. You can learn more about that here: Set up home theater audio with HomePod mini or HomePod and Apple TV 4K

We hope this helps.

Take care.
