Why did my MacBook Air go black and started beeping?

While in use and attached to power my MacBook Air went blank and immediately after started beeping a slow sequence of 3 beeps. I powered it off, waited a moment and powered it back on and it started beeping immediately the same way. What’s happening?

Hi,

Three beeps at start up means your memory is something wrong, you'd better take your MacBool Air to your local retail AppleStore, Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined your MacBook Air there.
