Why is my System Data to large?
I have on more than one occasion now had to completely reset my computer so make space for the newest OS because my System Data only continues to get bigger until I can no longer use the computer.

In addition to the other replies, System Data is controlled by macOS.
It mainly consists of:
- Time Machine local snapshot. These are created hourly, and typically are erased within a 24 hr period.
- Spotlight indexes.
- iCloud data stored locally.
