do I need a magsafe case to use magsafe with the iphone 13 mini? can I use -no- case?

I don't want to put any case on my phone, I just want to buy a magsafe charging car mount and attach it to that - probably the otterbox Wireless Charger Dash & Windshield Mount for MagSafe

I keep reading that you -need- a case on your phone to use magsafe so I just want to make sure, so if I do I'd love any recommendations, thank you very much
