"This copy of the install macOS Ventura app is damaged and ant be used to install macOS"

Hi I have a 13inch 2017 MacBook Pro currently using macOS Big Sur version 11.6.5. I am trying to upgrade to macOS Ventura and it won't allow me and shows the error message "This copy of the install macOS Ventura app is damaged and ant be used to install macOS". I have tried everything shown on YouTube to try and fix it but its not as simple as they say it is. can someone please help me?

Thanks

Jordan

I had the same issue with a brand-new MacBook Air. What have you tried?

The work-around for me was to restart the Mac in safe boot mode, and run the upgrade check again there.

Be prepared for a long wait: the download was 12.15GB (vs. 6 - 7GB when I tried normally), and the software then took 4 - 5 hours to install once downloaded. It did work though!
