Assuming that your carrier says that everything checks out from their end, you can perform a bit of troubleshooting yourself.

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

There are only two possible results:

1) Operation returns to normal

2) The phone has a hardware problem and will need to be serviced at an Apple Store or authorized Apple Service shop

If your iPhone is dropping calls, it is likely an issue with your carrier. We'd recommend first reaching out to your carrier to ensure there's no issues on their end, you're in good coverage, etc.

You can also check for a carrier settings update. While connected to Wi-Fi, go to Settings > General > About on your iPhone. If you have an update, you'll see a pop-up prompting you to install it, it won't appear if you don't have one to install.
