Deleting/Retrieving Photos from iCloud using iPad

I recently received a message that my iCloud was getting full. I think there are a lot of photos in my cloud that I don't really need. Conversely, there is also one photo that I really want but can't find that I know I had in iPhoto at some point so I would like to find it in the cloud. The issue is that several years ago, when I upgraded my Desktop to a new OS it became essentially unusable. I keep my desktop mostly for situations like this where I need to find old files stored on that desktop or one of its external drives. But I looked recently and the photo I wanted wasn't there and it isn't on my iPad (which I still use all the time) so I'm thinking it is probably in the cloud somewhere. But I can't find a way from my iPad to view the files (photos or otherwise) I currently have in the cloud. I would like to do that, both to delete many superfluous photos and to find one that I would love to retrieve.

Hey JGatsby,

Absolutely, if you want to view your pictures directly on the iCloud website just sign in to your account. Then once you're signed in, select the Photos option on the home page.

Sign in and use iCloud.com

Cheers!

Hi JGatsby,

We would love to help answer the question, as we know how important it is that you're able to locate your photos. So, if you have iCloud enabled for Photos on the iPad, it should show up there if the photos was saved to iCloud. If you were too low on storage, and the photo was taken or saved after your storage was depleted, it may not be stored in iCloud.

Additionally, you can check iCloud on a Mac or PC by following the helpful suggestion based on your device, by visiting the link below.

Thanks but none of those things worked for me. Is there a way I can just directly see all my files in the cloud? I.e., the way I can go to my Google drive and see all the files regardless of the type of file or where it is stored? I know that there were photos on my iPad that I can no longer see and they should be backed up in the cloud but with the Photos app on my iPad I can't see them. Is there a way that I can navigate to some URL in a browser to see all my iCloud files?

Fantastic, thanks, that's what I needed. I also found that when I read the article first cited more closely it did help me retrieve some photos that I had marked private (one of my favorite math teachers had a saying: "when all else fails read the directions"). So I found the ones I was most concerned about and I think that link will help me retrieve the rest. Thanks very much!
