Getting emails on my iPad

I managed to mess up my email account on my iPad. Several months ago I opened a new Gmail account and while I was setting it up, I must have checked a wrong box or something, joining or combining my primary email account with the new Gmail account, and now I no longer receive my Optimum account emails on my iPad. The account is still there but the Inbox is empty and there’s a message that says ‘no new messages’. Can someone please help me fix this? I have no idea how to go about this.

Hey EmmaGoldman48,

it's definitely important you're able to access all of your emails. The following guide has some great steps you can take to help resolve this: If you can't receive email on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If the behavior continues, remove the account and add it back using the steps under "Remove your email account and set it up again" in the guide above:

Remove your email account and set it up again

1. On your computer, sign in to your email provider’s website. Make sure that all of your email is there or make sure that your email is saved somewhere other than your device.
2. On your device, go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
3. Tap the email account that you want to remove.
4. Tap Delete Account.
5. Add your account again.

If these steps don't work, contact your email service provider for more information.

Let us know how it goes.

Take care!
