Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless Headset doesn't work in FaceTime on Mac

When I try to make a FaceTime-call with my Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless Headset selected as the output device, FaceTime crashes when trying to connect. I then tried to create a

multi-output-device in audio-midi-setup, which only contains the headset. That prevents FaceTime from crashing, but I still can't hear any audio. I then tried to add my normal MacBook Speakers to the multi-output-device, but i still can't hear audio, neither on my headset. nor the Mac-Speakers. The headset works fine in all other cases and other video-conferencing-apps, too (like zoom).

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.0

We would like to see how we can help you with FaceTime while using your wireless headset. Do you have any issues when using FaceTime with just the Mac microphone and internal speakers? After the device boots into safe mode, try to reproduce the problem. Knowing whether or not the problem persists in safe mode will provide valuable insight as to how deep the problem may be rooted.


If safe mode does not work, or the restart after a successful boot into safe mode does not work, please contact us back with the results so we can troubleshoot further.

I booted in safe mode and the problem persists both when the Corsair iCUE software is running and when it's not. Furthermore, I want to add that the problem only occurs if the headset is set as the output. FaceTime works if another device is the output, even if the input is the headset. It also seems it can read (and send to the other participant) the input signal in that case.
