Hello barbonator,
We would like to see how we can help you with the "Sync Library" option missing from your Settings. Did your Apple Music memebership lapse recently? Follow this link to check: How to switch to a different subscription plan - Apple Support

Cheers!
I ended up finding my playlist on my iPad. I shared it with myself. Guess what? That didn’t work!
so I had to offload my music app, shut down my phone (hard reset), log out and back in to iTunes, update my phone and then I believe my toggle came back.
I did not wipe my phone or anything drastic like that. But it was a LOT. I was very frustrated. There should’ve been a ooo up asking if I really wanted to turn that off when I did it. My pressing that option or turning it off in the first place was not intended. Especially not knowing I’d lose my entire library of music on my phone! I’m so glad I had it on my iPad.
I started this thread. The question was mine to begin with. Mine wouldn’t sync in my iPhone, my playlist disappeared, as did the sync toggle button.
I tried some things and MINE acted like I didn’t even have applemusic anymore. Which is my entire playlist and music collection.
So I found my playlist was still on my iPad. I shared it with myself. Then I updated & rebooted, hard reset and shut down and powered back up.
Many of my songs were greyed out. That started my whole mess. I don’t want everything of mine shared in the cloud, so that’s how my sync button disappeared. There was no ‘are you sure? This is what will happen if you press this button’ … so I hit the button, which took me to the DarkSide.
I hope you find resolution. I did and it was not easy at all.
I'm seeing the same issue. sync library option is missing under Music (though I can search it from Settings, but cannot see the option under Music - likely some iOS update disabled this), cannot sync playlists from my iMac to my iPhone 12 Pro. This behavior happened while I had iOS 15.x, at some point in time this year I had cancelled my Apple Music subscription. Now I'm using iOS 16.2, still see the same issue.
I have a new MacBook Pro. Some music has been downloaded. A lot is still not there and the sync library toggle on my iPhone is not there. My playlists on my iPhone have not transferred to my MacBook
ive tried all of the suggestions online, spent hours trying to sort it out and no luck. Why has the sync library toggle on my iPhone disappeared? 🥴
You are misunderstanding the question. it is NOT about the Music subscription, it is about getting my thousands of songs I have synced with iTunes, now Music APP, to show on my brand new iPad Pro, just as they do on my iPhone and iMac. Where are all of my songs, when I open Apple Music on my new iPad it's only show a handful of my thousands of songs?
I am having the same issue. I do not see the toggle "Sync Libray" under the music app under settings. I have spent hours trying to figure it out.
