My Apple ID logs in on my iPad but not on my new iPhone 14. It keeps saying it’s not verified. What can I do?

i can’t access my Apple ID on my new phone. It keeps saying it’s not verified or supported.

iOS 16 and Apple ID Verification Hello, I have updated my iPhone 12 to iOS 16 but every time I restart my phone it asks for my Apple ID Password. Following various searches on the web I have tried the suggestion of logging out of iCloud and then logging back in but I still have the problem. There is a red dot over the phone icon when I restart the phone which disappears after I have entered my password. Again some searching on the web suggested I deleted the history of Recents and Voicemail but it still appears after I restart the phone. Is this linked to the problem? Grateful for any help solving this problem.
