Trouble with HDR/Linear PCM clip in Final Cut on Ventura?

Hello fellow nerds!

Is anyone else experiencing trouble with certain HDR codecs in Final Cut Pro on Ventura? My new Mac Studio has Ventura on it and when I went to open an existing project, all of our clips from a certain camera won't play back. They just appear blacked out in the browser and timeline, although they playback just fine in QuickTime.

I can confirm they also play back fine in FCP on older versions of MacOS, and one of my employees who has a newer MacBook Pro which he has updated to Ventura is having the same trouble. The footage in question is originally BlackMagic RAW which has been transcoded to "ProRes 422 LT, Linear PCM" Rec. 2020 HLG.

I've tried deleting the generated clip media which has not helped. The clips will play back when I proxy them, but there's no option to optimize for some reason and I don't want our final renders coming from the proxy.

Anyone else seeing this? any ideas for a workaround?

Mac Studio, macOS 13.0
