There are many ways you can choose from. Here are a few.
Select several rows and option-click on a row number.
Change the number rows under the Table tab (after you activate the format panel):
Click the handle at the lower left of the table and drag it down:

This is a variation on the first method in SG's list.
You can insert multiple rows, adding them to the bottom of the table, or inserting them above or below a specific existing row in the table. For the example, I'll add four rows to the table below, and place those rows below row 5.
Starting Table:
I want to insert 4 rows after Row 5, so I select a group of 4 cells, with the last of the four in row 5.
With those rows selected, press option-down arrow.
Done.
But I also wanted to add one new column to the left of column C.
Several cells are already selected, and they are all in one column, so I don't need to repeat the selection; I can simply press option-left arrow:
And my table now has four new rows and one new column.
Extension: Suppose you wanted to add a dozen new rows below row 5 of the starting table.
You can't select a stack of more than five cells from the top of the table to (and including) row 5.
But you can choose the same four as was done in the example above, then press and hold option and tap the down arrow three times. Each tap adds 4 rows, and moves the selection rectangle down, ready for the next tap.

Barry
