HomePod and "Recently Played"

I'm a happy Apple Music customer, and have a few HomePod minis that I enjoy. All are using iOS 16.1.

When I play music from my iPhone to a HomePod mini, it doesn't appear that the "recently played" playlist ever gets updated with those tracks. When I play those songs from my iPhone in my car or to my Beats headphones, it does. I'd like music I play on my HomePod to be tracked to the "recently played" playlist. Is there a way to enable that?

Hi mikelach2, We appreciate you reaching out to us. We understand that the songs that you play on Apple Music through your HomePod mini doesn't get added to the recently played tracks.

We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you. How do you initiate the songs that are played on your HomePod mini?

Do you ask Siri to play the music, or do you initiate the music on a device and AirPlay it on your HomePod mini?

For now, we recommend that you restart your devices if you haven't.

Please keep us posted.

Take care!
